Arthur David Somers, of Losier Hall, Miramichi, NB, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Matthews Settlement, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Geneva (Johnston) Somers.

Artie was a dedicated, self-employed woodsman during his working years. He found joy in playing bingo and listening to the music played at Losier Hall. He repeatedly watched tear-jerking movies and especially loved to watch Home Alone at Christmas Time. He was a Montreal Canadian fan and enjoyed wearing anything with their logo. Always a faithful man of God, he ended all his conversations by reminding us to “Thank the Lord for Everything” in our daily prayers. 

He is survived by his children: Kimberly Somers (Kirk) of Halcomb, NB; Tara Somers-Steen (Dale) of Fort McMurray, AB; and Jason and Matthew, both of Miramichi, NB. He is also survived by his sister, Pearl Beaudet (Gilles) of Matthews Settlement, NB; his sister-in-law, Marina Somers of Mississauga, ON; and his grandchildren, Kailla (Kody), Kenda (Wesley), Mitchell, and Bailey, as well as great-grandchildren, Krew and Kwyn. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
