It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Marie (McNeil) Munn, of Toronto, ON, who left us on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto at the age of 88. Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Hector and Margaret (McIsaac) MacNeil, who raised her in Cape Breton, NS, and the devoted wife of the late Gilbert Arthur Munn of Moncton, NB.
A woman of extraordinary strength, resiliency and love, Ann faced many challenges in life with quiet dignity. She married Gilbert, the love of her life, and together they built a family. Tragically, Gilbert passed away at just 37, leaving Ann to raise their four children—Darlene Ann Jonat (Jeff) of Hamilton, ON, Elaine Margaret Munn of Edmonton, AB, Linda Lee Munn of Toronto, ON, and Duncan Thomas Munn (Elaine De Menezes) of Toronto, ON. Despite the difficulties she faced, Ann devoted herself to her children with grace, selflessness, and an unwavering love that became the foundation of their lives.
Ann’s love extended to her grandchildren—Bradley McDonald, Joshua Munn, William Jonat, and Brooke Jonat—who were a cherished part of her life.
In her later years, Ann was lovingly cared for by her daughter Linda, with whom she shared a home. Despite the passing of time, Ann remained mentally and physically strong until the very end. Her deep love for her family was her greatest legacy, as was her generosity and kindness, both extended widely and in abundance to all she encountered through her life. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church on November 22, 2024, at 1 PM with Father Paul Doucet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, where Ann will be laid to rest beside her husband, as she had wished.
In Ann’s memory, we ask only that you honor her by keeping your loved ones close, just as Ann always did.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Jardine Funeral Home & Crematorium, 597 Old King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. Telephone: 506-622-3600 or 506-622-7464.
