A hunter from the Acadian Peninsula has shot what may be the first wolf killed in New Brunswick in 100 years. Jacques Mallet had a license to hunt coyotes, and shot the animal this past week. Turns out the animal is much larger than any coyote he has seen and now the DNR is checking the animals DNA to verify the species. For the time being the animal is on ice waiting for the results of the test before heading to the taxidermist. Here is the CBC story:
