Traffic advisory for Renous Bridge and Miramichi Bridge

Information about bridge closures in Miramichi and Renous on the weekend and early next week.

Two traffic advisories related to the Renous Bridge and Miramichi bridge.

Renous River Bridge

The Renous River Bridge No. 1, on Route 8 in Renous, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 27, and continuing until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29. This replaces the planned closure for today, June 22.

This temporary closure will permit concrete placement and curing as part of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s repairs to the bridge. The pour will be weather depending.

Detour signs will be posted. The detour route is through Route 118 (Gray Rapids and White Rapids).

The department apologizes for the inconvenience and encourages motorists to drive safely in construction zones. The public is encouraged to call 511 or visit the 511 webpage for updates for planned construction and maintenance activities.

Miramichi Bridge

The Miramichi Police Force would like to advise motorists that on June 26th,  2016, the Miramichi Bridge will be closed from Hennessey Street behind the Miramichi Mall to the lights at Nelson Street between 8:00 and 8:10hrs, due to the Rock ‘n Run ½ marathon (21kms), 10 km and 5 km race.   

The Miramichi Police Force will be monitoring traffic during the entire event and warn motorists to be extra cautious of runners and volunteers that will be participating in the race." (MPF ask that this advisory be repeated several times leading up to the race as to prepare motorists for any inconvenience)
