Traffic Advisory from MPF says to be aware of speed reductions heading into construction zone at Chatham Head intersection. Temporary traffic lights in place while roundabout work progresses.
If you have drive through the 117/126 intersection at Chatham Head reently, you would have noticed the work has begun on turning the intersection into a traffic circle. Today the traffic lights were disabled and temporary ons were installed. Police issued the following advisory to motorists to take note of speed changes when approaching the construction area:
Temporary lights have been installed; the motoring public is advised to expect traffic pattern changes.
Speed limits have been reduced from all directions approaching the intersection.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution and remain alert when passing through the construction zone.
This is expected to continue for the next few months until the traffic circle construction is complete.
Police will be monitoring the area for violations to ensure the safety of the construction crews as well as the motoring public.
