Tigers Split Their Games on the Coast

Chatham Head Tigers went on the road Sunday and split a double header with Caraquet Acadians.

Caraquet won the first game 4-3 scoring the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning. Matthew Goguen went the completed game for the Tigers, giving up four runs on six hits, one walk and four strike outs.  Tyler Cormier had the big blast for the Tigers, a two run home run.  Rounding out the hitting:  Scott McEachreon with two singles and a base on balls; Daniel Comfort, Nathan Jones and Scott Manderson each with singles.  Yan Rail went the complete game for the win.  He gave up three runs on five hits, five walks and twelve strike outs.  Bobby Joe Burns was the top hitter with two singles.

Tigers put it all together in the second game scoring 17-7 win by the ten run mercy rule.  Tyler Cormier went 4 2/3 innings for the win.  He gave up seven runs on seven hits, two walks and three strike outs.  Johnny Allain threw the last 1 1/3 inning, giving up zero runs and two hits.  Tigers got seventeen hits in their win.  Brian Dunn, Daniel Comfort and Johnny Allain each had three hits.  Jason Gautreau and Scott Manderson had two hits each.  Matthew Goguen, Scott McEachreon and Nathan Jones got the other hits.  Daniel Comfort also scored four times in the win.

Tigers next game is Tuesday (July 5th) at home against Lameque.  Game time is 7:30 p.m.
