SCE issues press release on incident

All employees safe following an incident at Miramichi Assembly Plant today

Miramichi, NB - Sunny Corner Enterprises Inc. confirmed this evening that all their employees are safe following an incident involving exposure to carbon monoxide from an undetermined cause at their Assembly Plant in Miramichi, NB this morning.

The company also confirms that the situation is currently under control and they are cooperating fully with WorkSafe NB.

The company reports that early this morning, one employee became ill and shortly thereafter other employees began experiencing headaches and other moderate symptoms. The company immediately evacuated the building and had all 36 persons present at the facility transported to the hospital for observation. By early evening, all employees had been released and returned home.

An investigation to determine the cause of the incident is currently underway.

Sunny Corner Enterprises Inc. commends its employees and staff for quickly responding to the incident and ensuring all staff evacuated safely.
