The death of Mrs. Phyllis Marie Ruth Lynch of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 94. Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Alexander James and Alice Jane (Harrington) Bass. Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle
Phyllis is survived by: three daughters: Jo Ann Lynch; Shirley Matheson (Ted); Marilyn Galley (Donnie) all of Miramichi, NB; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Matheson) Young, Jason Matheson, Correy Matheson, Wendy Galley, Melissa Galley, Holly Galley and Stephanie Young; nine great grandchildren: Kyron and Owen Amos, Zachary Young, Blace (Young) Savard, Jonah and Samson Young, Alexa Mae and Emily Joyce Galley-Ullock, Annika Lynn Martin; son in law: David Young of Miramichi, NB.
Phyllis was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by: her former husband: Clarence Michael Lynch, daughter: Clare Young, grandson: Steven Young and granddaughter: Sherry Lee Young; sisters: Hazel Matchett, Melissa (Bob) Gregan, Gladys (Addison) White, Alberta (Benny) Forrest and Shirley (Tommy) MacDonald; brothers: James, Carmen (Bud) and Everett (Jean) Matchett, Alexander (Grace) and Melbourne Bass.
Please note there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A Public Funeral Service will be held from the St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2 PM with Rev. Alice SzemÃ¶k officiating.
Burial will take place in the Miramichi Cemetery later in the spring.
In Phyllisâ€™ memory, donations may be made to a memorial of oneâ€™s choice.
