Mr. Raymond Joseph Russell, husband of Barbara Ann (Fleet) Russell of Old Ferry Road, Miramichi passed away Saturday July 2, 2011 at his late residence, at the age of 75. Born in Chatham he was the son of Simon and Mary Ellen (Savoy) Russell. He was a retired Station Attendant for Air Canada. He was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, he was an active member of the church council, the church choir, the Chatham Head Rec Center, the Nelson graveyard committee, and the Chatham Head Old Timers. Raymond was an avid groundskeeper, he loved to travel, dance, sing and tell jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann, two sons; Robert Russell of Toronto and Paul Cummings of Montreal, one sister, Doreen Boniface, sister in law, Lois Russell, and many neices and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers; Buddy Russell, Adolph Savoy, and Lloyd Russell and sister in law, Jean Russell.

Mr. Raymond Joseph Russell is rested at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 6 at 11 am from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Chatham Head with Father Stanislas Paulin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Nelson. At the request of the family donations can be made to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Fund or a memorial of one’s choice would be appreciated.
