After many months the contract dispute between nursing home workers and the Government of New Brunswick appears to be resolved with a tentative agreement that was confirmed Wednesday by both the union and Minister of Social Development.
While it will be up to nursing home workers whether they want to accept this offer, People’s Alliance Leader Kris Austin said he hopes they do.
Both sides have agreed to withhold details of the tentative agreement pending its ratification.
“We are pleased to see the union and the Province have been able to reach a tentative agreement. Throughout the long and difficult contract dispute, the People’s Alliance MLAs made many attempts to help both sides find some middle ground and come to a fair resolution for both the workers and the province. Now that the tentative agreement has been reached, let’s hope workers are pleased with the offer,” Mr. Austin said.
