Iris Sullivan says she can raise enough money, 1 dollar at a time, to replace all the beds at Mount St. Joseph with new ones. Sullivan is the director of the Mount St. Joseph Foundation, and sees many places where money is needed to improve the facility and improve the lives of its residents. The power of One campaign asks people to donate one dollar, less than a cup of coffee, with the goal of raising enough money to replace all the beds at the Mount with new, modern ones. The campaign is an ambitious one, but when you're only asking people to contribute a dollar, it seems easy.
James Bond of Miramichi created this video to give the campaign a boost.

About the Foundation and The Power of OneThe Power of One is simple.
One Donation, One Dollar, One Kindness, One Person can make a Difference in the life of a Resident of Mt St Joseph Nursing Home.
Keeping our money at home in the Miramichi for our Elders.
The Power of One is the First Annual Campaign for Mt St Joseph Foundation Inc.
Our Goal is 500 thousand dollars, to replace outdated equipment, some of which came with the original building.
This annual campaign gives and opportunity for all in the Miramichi Region to support the Residents of the MOUNT.
- MYTH: when a person is admitted to a Nursing Home the Government pays for everything.
- FACT: everyone pays a per diem rate plus if one must go to the hospital for a diagnostic test or if they are ill and need to go to the Hospital, the Resident must pay the cost. Residents pay for a wheelchair, walker, T.V. Telephone, computers. For those that have limited income these expenses can also cause hardships for their partners who still lives in the homestead and must continue to pay the cost of their family residence.
The perfect solution is to create a Foundation. Giving a great opportunity to give and receive a tax deduction!
