Other Merit Criteria and Conditions of Employment

Candidates must meet all of the essential qualifications noted in the Statement of Merit Criteria to be appointed to a position.   • ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Post-secondary school diploma obtained as of June 2013.

    Experience:

    Experience providing record management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retention, archiving or destroying data.

  • OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Willing and able to work overtime.

    Willing and able to work irregular and/or rotational hours of work in order to support the operations of the Centre which are currently from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Atlantic time).

    Willing and able to travel.

  • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Will be required to obtain security clearance of enhanced reliability. In addition, may be required to obtain RCMP Enhanced Reliability.

The following tests will be administered; Departmental Test, Verification and Accuracy Test, Written Communication Proficiency Test (WCPT-351).

Retest Period: There is a 180-day waiting period before the WCPT-351 can be re-written. A person wishing to take this test again must wait until the retest period has elapsed. Should a person re-write the test before the retest period has elapsed, the new result will not be valid, and a new retest period will begin as of the most recent test date.

Work Environment

The newly formed Public Service Pay Centre is located in Miramichi, NB. On May 28, 2012, the Pay Centre began to offer quality pay administration to a number of federal departments and agencies. By 2015, the Pay Centre will administer pay services to 184,000 federal public servants in 56 departments and agencies across the country. Employees work in a contact center environment with rotational shifts that support the operations of the center, based on the current business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Atlantic time), servicing clients from coast to coast.

Challenge

As a Workload Coordinator, you will be providing administrative support services to employees and managers of the Public Service Pay Centre. Responsibilities of this position include supporting the triage team, receiving files, maintaining employees’ compensation data and records, and coordinating incoming inquiries and documentation.

As a Pay Centre Clerk, some of your responsibilities include providing administrative support to the management team as well as coordinating and monitoring the receipt and distribution of incoming and outgoing documentation.
