Remember to set your alarms this Saturday morning for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup! Forget the snooze button, pull on those rubber boots and snuggle into a pair of gloves for an environmental cause that really is close to home.
The Vancouver Aquarium has coordinated cleanups in Canada since 1994, when a small team of volunteers conducted a local shoreline cleanup in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. In 2002, the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup became a national program, providing all Canadians the opportunity to make a difference in local communities, while taking part in a nationwide event.
Our local Miramichi Community will be meeting at the Douglastown Community Centre at 9:30am this Saturday, September 24th to participate in this nationwide event. Please join us as we celebrate the gift of nature by giving back and doing our part to maintain local ecosystems. All supplies and lunch for this event is generously donated by Loblaw.
