Press release from KPH Productions
MIRAMICHI – Following on the heels of their smashingly successful December 2013 showcase, Glenn and Elizabeth Copeland of KPH Productions are pleased to announce that registrations are now open for the Winter/Spring 2014 series of theatre arts classes. KPH Productions provides innovative performing arts programs for children, youth and adults in the Miramichi and surrounding areas. Focus is on fun and there is no previous experience necessary.
KPH is led by Glenn and Elizabeth Copeland, both professional performing artists and arts educators with decades of experience working internationally. Glenn is a musician, composer, storyteller and educator with a career spanning 30 years including stints with Mr. Dressup, Sesame Street and the National Film Board. Elizabeth's career has an equally impressive run of over 30 years as a professional performing artist, writer, poet and educator as well. She has worked with various theatres companies, the Charlottetown Festival and the famed Second City Touring Company. Her directorial credits include productions at the Glenn Gould Theatre in Toronto. She has worked with Learning Through the Arts, the Institute of Child Studies and World Vision Canada's Storytelling in the Schools program. Since their arrival in Miramichi three years ago, KPH has received three artist-in-residence grants for their work in NB public schools.

Curtains Up! Theatre Arts for the Young and Young at Heart! will focus on the fun of self-discovery and self-expression through the theatre arts. The benefits to health and well-being are many, including improved self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-expression, for children and adults alike. All classes run for 16 weeks, though students can opt to begin with the first eight classes. Students who have studied with KPH before can opt to take the last eight classes only, with performance as the focus. For the commitment-shy, the first class is a chance to try it out with no obligation to commit to the full semester program. All classes end with a public performance on May 31 of this year.
In addition to the class offerings, Thursday evenings will be a variety of fun activities such as a continuation of the Circle Project, Drumming, Circle Dancing, and other surprises to be announced.
All classes take place at KPH’s new studio at the EastSide Creative Center, 55 Cunard Street in Chatham (Miramichi East). KPH can now accommodate online registration and the final registration will be held at the KPH Studio on the evenings of Wednesday, January 29 and Thursday, January 30 from 5-7 pm. Those wishing to take advantage of the trial class should contact KPH now. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
