Miramichi tap water best tasting in Atlantic Canada

Do you drink tap water? Miramichi tap water was judged as the best tasting at a conference recently held in Moncton

Last week at the 2016 Atlantic Canada Water and Waste Water annual conference, Miramichi took home top prize for the best tasting municipal water.  At the City Council meeting on Thursday night, Directors Jay Shanahan (Public Works) and Darren Row (Engineering) were showing off the trophy they received.

Conference attendees voted after a blind taste test, and Miramichi was the winner.  Shanahan said he was very pleased, because Halifax and Moncton are the typical winners, and their systems are more modern.  The city will be getting a boost in coming years from the infrastructure funds and will be updating the water systems in the city.

Shanahan said the water sample came out of a tap in the city.
