This upcoming Saturday the Chatham O’Donaghue’s Ironmen host to the Saint John Alpines in a doubleheader starting at 6 PM. It will be a special evening at the park, as two more former Ironmen greats have their names added to the 'Ironmen Honor Roll'. The festivities will be part of the team's annual 'tailgate party'!! There will be live music, beverages and BBQ! The present team encourages all fans and former players to come out and support a couple of Ironmen legends.
Guy Sorel
Guy "Super"Sorelplayed on seven senior provincial championship teams while with the Ironmen. Guy played from 1967 to 1984 , batting .292 with 35 Home Runs and 67 Stolen Bases. He supplied both power and speed and his love for the game was very evident every time he took the field.
Ed MacDermaid
Ed MacDermaid, often referred to as "Nice" by the home fans, was the straw that stirred the drink as the guy who ignited many rallies for the Ironmen dynasty of the 1970's. Ed played on four provincial championship teams, batting .289 with 53 stolen bases and showing great determination. His last playing year was 1977 leaving behind him many exciting moments.
