Miramichi News: What?: A community march through the streets at night symbolizing the darkness, isolation, silence and invisibility of violence against women and children.

Where?: March from Elm Park to NBCC
Who?: All are invited to join us for opening ceremonies, to provide support from the sidelines, and closing ceremonies. The march is open to the general public to take a stand against violence in our community.

Background:
The first Take Back the Night March began in England in 1877 as a protest against the violence and fear women encountered walking the streets at night. Since then the event has broadened into an annual event marked globally as a protest opposing all forms violence against women. We are now celebrating its 25th annual international march.
