Miramichi News: Tenants forced to flee from fire at Miramichi apartment

Miramichi News:   More than 20 people were forced from an apartment building in Miramichi, N.B., after a fire earlier today.

The blaze was confined to two units in the Pinewood Court Apartments at 312 Sweeney Lane.

However, smoke and water damaged several other areas of the building.

Fire officials are still assessing the situation and it's likely most of the tenants will be out for the remainder of the day.

The Canadian Red Cross is assisting with emergency motel lodging, meals and some clothing purchases.

There's no word on the cause of the fire.
