Miramichi News: Scotia Bank Auction Puts Icing On The Cake

Miramichi News:  When first accepting a job here as branch Manager  in 2007, we were looking for a unique fundraising activity. We decided to try holding a cake auction. The first year we supported the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation and we raised approx $5200. We did the Hospital Foundation three times and also the Kidney Foundation. Over the past 4 years we have raised $36,400 including our Team Scotia Community Matching funds. This year's cake auction for the MSCH raised $9700, with our $5000 matching funds, we donated $14,700. The grand total that has been returned to our community over the past 5 years is $51,100. Scotiabank is a big promoter of having employees involved in our community and it is something we all enjoy. This year our fund raising efforts went to the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home to help fund a new bus for it's residents.
