Miramichi News: Rotary Pond Hockey Offering Early Registration Incentives

Miramichi News: The Miramichi Rotary Pond Hockey committee is starting to shift into high gear in preparation for its 8th annual tournament. This "anchor" event has 20 plus organizing members, and a volunteer base of over 200 people.     New for this year, besides deciding to move the tournament back to French Fort Cove for 2012, is the "Early Bird Incentive Program".  "We are hoping to entice teams to register early this year by offering some juicy incentives. Any team that is registered by December 15th will have their team of 4 entered into a draw for a hockey trip to Montreal, courtesy of Molson/Coors Canada. One Hundred teams usually compete in the event with several different categories from mens competitive to family teams, kids under 12, and woman's, there is something for everyone and every age.

"It is hoped that everyone will get into the spirit early this year and not wait until the last minute to register. It always seems like it is the case with our local teams, we hope this is early bird special acts as a big incentive for teams to get it done early", says Greg MacDiramid Promotions Chair.
