10th Annual Turkey Drive

Monday was a great day at the Miramichi Turkey Drive, our number of turkey received totalled 101, with some 36 turkeys coming in on Monday. We have crossed over the half-way point. There still is a need for 86 more turkeys, and only four days remaining in the turkey drive. The drive is going well and we are very pleased the way corporations, organizations and individuals have supported us this far. With four days left, they will hope to busy receiving turkeys and achieving our goal. A goal set by the needs in our community, achievable by our community.

187 turkeys is the goal for 2011’s Christmas Turkey Drive, for the Christmas Food Hampers. This is a slight increase from last year by 19 turkeys. Frozen turkeys can be dropped off at two locations, Brunswick Driver Training at 1753 Water Street, or Great Canadian Dollar Store at 1746 Water Street.

If a person is unable to physically drop off a frozen turkey, they can forward a donation made out the “Christmas Turkey Drive”. Donation can be sent to Christmas Turkey Drive C/O Brunswick Driver Training, PO Box 394 Miramichi, NB, E1N 3A8, or dropped off at the office, 1753 Water Street. All funds generated will go directly to the purchase of a turkey.
