MYPIE and Miramichi Online launch “The Very Best” top 10 volunteers under 45

The network of Miramichi Young Professionals and Involved Entrepreneurs (MYPIE) and Miramichi Online (MO) are seeking nominations for a listing of the top 10 volunteers under the age of 45 in the Miramichi Region. These top 10 individuals will be eligible for a new award that will be presented at the 2012 MYPIE Gala and Awards ceremony held in April. The new award is named “The Very Best People’s Choice Award” and will be given to one of top ten volunteers in Miramichi under the age of 45 that receives the most votes online from the public. Nominations will be accepted during the month of December with a closing date of Friday, January 6, 2012. Online voting will commence in February.

A nomination committee will be formed to review the nominations and create a listing of the top ten volunteers which will be displayed with photographs and descriptions on the MO website. This listing will be displayed in January 2012. Nomination forms will be available on the MYPIE website during the month of December or a nomination form can be picked up at the MO office located on 1750 Water Street.

Candidates for the listing must meet the following eligibility criteria: must be a resident of the Miramichi Region for at least the past two years, must be actively involved in the community, must be 45 years of age or under, must display outstanding volunteerism in the community, and must be actively involved in working toward making our community a better place. Students from local high schools or colleges are also eligible to be nominated for this listing if they meet the criteria given. Nominations of candidates will be accepted from family members, friends, teachers, employers, business owners, financial institutions, organizations and government agencies.
