On August 17th, professional Lumberjacks from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island compete for the title of the Woodmen’s Museum top Lumberjack and Lumberjill.

Lumberjacks are sharpening their axes and filing their crosscuts for the Central New Brunswick Woodmen’s Museum, one day, Lumberjack Competition, that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Moyal Conrad (Greensfield, Nova Scotia) will be here to defend his 2012 title of Central New Brunswick Woodmen’s Museum Lumberjack Champion. The competition is wide open for the Lumberjill Champion, as the 2012 winner Melanie Bourque (Memramcook, NB) has set aside her axe and hot saw for the arrival of a new baby in the near future.

The Woodmen’s Museum, located in Boiestown, NB, will host their Annual Professional Lumberjack Competition on Saturday, August 17th at 12 noon. This competition is number 5 of 6 sanctioned by the Maritime Lumberjack Association.

“NEW” for 2013, the Museum has added Springboard Chop and Single Buck to the roster. AND, a NEW “Masters Division” in Vertical Chop, Bowsaw, and Underhand Chop. Marc Desrosier (Hay Settlement, NB); Joe Breau (Memramcook, NB); Roger MacPhee (Petitcodiac, NB), Vital Bourque (Rogersville, NB), and Paul Woodland (Benton, NB) will all compete for the prestigious title.

Hot Saws are always one of the highlights of the day; and, Moyal Conrad’s 2012 time of 5.16 seconds will be hard to beat.

A Kids Lumberjack Competition, displays of Non-Timber Forest Product and local vendors, the Tasty Pastry Truck, BBQ, and a Supper of baked ham, scallop and beans will all be a part of this amazing day of lumberjack competition. Admission applies at the gate.

Join us for the sounds of the crosscut, chopping, and saws; and, a competition that will keep you in suspense right down to the very last chop!
