MIRAMICHI - Tyler McKay drove in a pair of runs as the Chatham Ironmen defeated the Moncton Tim Hortons Cubs 5-3 in New Brunswick Junior Baseball League play last night.
Aaron Noel and Jeff McCarthy each had a pair of hits for the Ironmen (8-4), who led 2-1 before scoring three runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
Winning pitcher Sean Silliphant scattered three runs - one earned - on four hits over six innings. He struck out eight batters and walked one. Emmerson Savage recorded the save.
Luc Vautour had two hits for the Cubs (8-4), who have lost three straight. Nick LeBlanc was charged with the loss, giving up five runs and five hits in five innings.
