Jarvis pitches gem and delivers clutch hit, stretching unbeaten record to 9 in a row closing in on league record for most wins in a season.

Jason Jarvis did it all on Saturday evening at Ironmen Field and he delivered another gem on the mound and produced a clutch hit in the bottom of the 6th to defeated Moncton Fisher Cats 2-1.
The win moves the Ironmen three games up on the second place Fisher Cats in the four-team league. The Ironmen set at the top of the heap with a 15-8 record while Moncton is next at 13-12 with Fredericton moving out the basement with an 11-14 record. Saint John Alpines are on a major slump losing their last nine games.
On the mound, Jarvis improved his league-leading record to 9-0 with three saves. He ties the team record with Aron Merrill and Cory Bazylinski who in 2000 had a 9-2 record with a 2.16 ERA. The league record is 10-0.
On Saturday Jarvis pitched a complete game 2-1 win going the full 7 innings giving up 5 hits,4 walks while striking out 5 and surrendering 1 earned run. He remains the league leader with a 0.84 ERA after 66.2 innings on the mound.
At the plate with two batters on and none out he produced a single that scored one run to tie the game.
Jeff Watkin continues his hot batting pace stroking a double and single to move his league-leading batting average to .409, he also leads the league in home runs with 7 and RBI with 22.
Matt Losier also had a double and single in the game for the Ironmen.
The Ironmen play a back to back series with the Fredericton Royals on Thursday at home at 7:30 then travel to the capital city for a 7:30 contest.
