(HORIZON) September 10, 2014 – Do you have a patient experience that we can learn from? Do you have an interest in helping Horizon Health Network make the patient experience the best that it can be? Then becoming a volunteer Patient Experience Advisor might be the role for you.
Horizon Health Network is looking for people willing to share their hospital experiences as Horizon moves towards becoming a patient and family centred care organization. A Patient Experience Advisor is a volunteer who has a recent experience as a patient or a family member to a patient, and is able to partner with staff and physicians to provide direct input into policies, programs and practices that affect patient care and services.
Horizon will request the Patient Experience Advisors’ feedback when considering the patient perspective and when making changes or updates to our processes. They will partner with staff to ensure patient and family centred care is provided in a fully accessible environment that promotes healing, ensures dignity and instills trust. They will support hospitals and clinics in development of quality and process improvement projects.
In this role, the commitment can be short or long-term. We value all input from individuals willing to participate and work together to make a positive change.
