Forever Irish - Friday, 2pm, JMH

To get you into the spirit of the Irish Festival, come out to see "Forever Irish!"

"Forever Irish!" is a forty minute one act play - complete with song and dance - produced by KPH Productions. Woven into the play are traditional Irish songs, stories and dances, as well as original music by Glenn Copeland. The script was written by Elizabeth Copeland, who also directs. You'll meet a group of zany Irish Minstrels, see a comic rendition of Oscar Wilde's "The Selfish Giant" (renamed the Selfish Ogre to suit the height of the actor playing the role), and meet a group of mischievous fairies whose efforts are constantly foiled by the antics of Beatrice the Fairy Butler.

The play is a culmination of a two week theater arts camp led by Glenn and Elizabeth, along with the help of many local volunteers. Children who could not otherwise afford to attend were supported by the Community Inclusion Network, as well as donations from folks in Nova Scotia, Ontario and Miramichi. The show features a cast of thirteen talented locals ranging in ages from 8-14. Amazing as it may seem, the cast has polished this production in just a little over a week!

Come out to tap your toes, and have a laugh or two with 'Forever Irish!'
