The RunNB Elite Series of nine races is over and Paul Gallant from Bathurst and Dr. Paula Keating from Miramichi emerged as the overall winners in the first year of the series.
The Elite series was proposed by the Chaleur Running Club to promote a series of races that would award prize money to the top three male and female runners. The prize structure to be part of the race series was to give the first place winner in the race $80, while second place would receive $60 and 3rd place $40.

Each winner received 100 points in the overall series championship while second place got 80 points and third receives 75 points. The top three runners both male and female at the end of the series will pick up an additional cash award from RunNB at the year-end banquet, this year being held in Beresford on November 15th.
