Dad steps in for deceased son at Blackville prom

A Blackville grad lost her prom date when a tragic car accident claimed the life of a young man on May 14th, 2018. The young mans father escorted the girl to prom and was greeted with applause and tears.

A proud night for the community of Blackville was made bittersweet when the father of a deceased man escorted a beautiful young woman to the prom.

On May 14th, 18 year old Marshall Curtis died in car accident.  He was to escort MacKenzie Stewart to her Blackville High School prom tonight, but it was not to be.  Marshall’s dad, Carson Curtis, did the honours and proudly escorted MacKenzie to the dance.

Mr. Curtis looked great in his suit, and struggled with his emotions as hundreds from the commuity were there to see the grads, and he received several rounds of applause as he marched pass them to the entrance of the school.  He wasn’t the only one who had a lump in his throat tonight.,
