Credit Union Wins Community Involvement award

On April 13th, at the Atlantic Central General Annual Meeting, Beaubear Credit was the proud recipient of the prestigious Coady Award. The Coady Award is given annually to honour an Atlantic Canadian Credit Union or Caisse Populaire that best exemplifies leadership, support and involvement in its community. The award was named for Dr. Moses Coady, a pioneer and a “giant” in the     cooperative movement who encouraged his followers to strive for a meaningful economic democracy that would permit the higher social activities of mankind.  The award has been given out since 1954. This is the first time the award has been presented to a credit union outside of Nova Scotia.

Highlights of Beaubear Credit Union’s community support include:

  • Major sponsor of the 2011 Senior Men’s National Baseball Championship
  • Major sponsor of the City of  Miramichi Sports Wall of Fame since 2007

  • Golden Hawk Youth Event Night
  • Two Annual Scholarships
