Collision on 126 claims life of eel Ground woman

Shortly before 5 p.m. on April 18, 2019, Richibucto RCMP responded to a call of a head-on collision between a southbound car and a northbound pickup truck on Route 126 in Hebert, N.B. The 51-year-old female driver of the car died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The two occupants of the pickup truck, a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman were taken to hospital with what are thought to be non life threatening injuries.

A 51-year-old woman from Eel Ground First Nation has died as the result of a two vehicle collision.

The 51-year-old female driver of the car died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The two occupants of the pickup truck, a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman were taken to hospital with what are thought to be non life threatening injuries.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the truck crossed the centre line and collided with the car.

The investigation is ongoing.

Obituary

Pamela (Stemm) Hachey, of Eel Ground, passed away on April 18th, at the age of 51.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of John Stemm and Joyce Paul. She was an Aboriginal Mi'kmaq Artist and will be remembered for many of her beautiful designs.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Paul Hachey of Eel Ground; daughter Winter Jewel of Eel Ground; three sons Evan Stemm and Jesse Stemm both of Eel Ground and Mathieu Hachey (Cheyanne) of Moncton; four sisters Kim Somerville, Amy Romeo and Marlena Stemm all of Eel Ground and Marcia Stemm of Bristol, Connecticut.

Besides parents, she was also predeceased by special grandmother Marie Fretts.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday April 23, 2019, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. A celebration will be held on April 24, 2019, at 11am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel.

At the family’s request, donations may be made to the family in memory of Pam.
