On Saturday the venerable Centennial Bridge celebrated its 50th birthday. William Brennan lives nearby, and has collected memorabilia about the structure.
William Brennam lives in the shadow of the Centennial Bridge. He can look out his window and gaze upon it, he photographs it, he even whipper-snips the grass along the train tracks in the summer time to keep his view nice and tidy. Brennan has been collecting postcards and other memorabilia about the bridge (and other things) for years, and offered ot share some of his favourite pieces on the bridge’s birthday. His prize possession is the brochure for the opening ceremonies that took place on September 30th, 1967. His favourite photo included a ship that was breaking ice as it entered the city.
