Susan Estelle Hare, widow of the late Reginald Hare, of Mount Saint Joseph Memory Care Unit and formerly of 2050 King George Highway, Miramichi, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 77. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Dewolfe) Sullivan and was raised and lived almost her entire life in Nordin.
Susan was a homemaker, wife and mother, who had various jobs and volunteer positions in the community throughout her lifetime. She loved flower gardening, landscaping, singing, birdwatching, interior design and cats.
Besides her husband, Reg, and her parents, Susan was predeceased by brother James T. (Ted) Sullivan, sister Sarah (Sally) Allison and infant grandson Gavin Hare.
Susan is survived by her children, Megan Hare (Jody Harding) of Fredericton, Mary Jane Nelson (Alexander) of Penniac, Michael Hare (April Doak) of Chance Harbour and Mark (Janet) of Miramichi, grandchildren Regan Hare, Thomas Hare and Emily O’Dell (Tyler Collett), great grandchildren Austin and Autumn Collett, sister Patricia Meehan (Manus), sister in law Susan Kingston (Richard) along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 4 PM to 8 PM. An internment service for family will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at St. Samuels’s Roman Catholic Cemetery
The family wishes to thank the staff of Mount Saint Joseph Memory Care Unit and the staff of 4th Floor East and Palliative Care at the Miramichi Regional Hospital for the wonderful care they provided Susan.
