October 30, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Elsie Irene Enright, wife of Kelly Enright of Miramichi on October 30, 2024, at the age of 79.
Elsie was born and raised in Sillikers and loved growing up by the footbridge. Elsie was a schoolteacher for 35 years, retiring from NSER in 2001. She loved teaching and long into retirement she still told stories of her favorite students. The family was told many times over the years that Elsie was their favorite teacher.
Elsie enjoyed her retirement; she liked to spend time at the table coloring or doing sudoku puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her great nieces and nephews, helping raise and spoil them every chance she got. She was a very special aunt and could be counted on to be there for you no matter what. She never missed a birthday or a Christmas concert. She always made a fuss over you, and you knew you were special. She was so proud of her family, and we will miss her dearly.
Elsie also loved Friday night gospel sessions, listening to Kelly sing, evening drives for ice cream, a good feed of Estey’s, and trips to Moncton to visit Kelly’s mother and pick up a tuxedo cake! Elsie had the kindest heart, the greatest laugh, and was so fun to tease. She was always generous and made Christmas Eve the most exciting night of the year! Those closest to her always knew how much they were loved, especially her husband. Even during her illness, the way her eyes would light up when he was near was a true testament to the beautiful connection they shared.
Elsie was predeceased by her parents Vivian and Gordon Allison, Kelly’s parents Arley and Shirley Enright, her brothers Brent and Ricky, brother-in law Charles Bourque, step grandson Cailum and her precious shih tzu Jay-Jay.
Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Kelly, his sons Harris (Tamara) and Kyle (Andrea) Enright, step grand-daughters Adriana and Kali Enright, her sisters Sheree Allison, and Brenda (Charles) Bourque, brother in laws Bill (Judy) and Lance (Susan) Enright, sister in laws Arlene (Glenn) Steeves, Sylvia (Ricky) Allison, Marilyn (Brent) Allison as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Family would like to thank those that helped care for Elsie during these last few years. They had support from friends, neighbors, their church, and the staff at Losier Hall. Kelly was a devoted caregiver, ensuring she remained home as long as possible. They shared a beautiful life together and as soulmates they set an example of a marriage filled with faith, love, and commitment. Elsie’s life lessons would be to laugh often, love bright colors, cherish family, enjoy the sweet things in life and “if it’s the pits,” let it go....
