Elier Joseph Schofield of Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB passed away at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on October 28, 2023 at the age of 95.
Born in Chatham, NB, on November 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Archie and Eva (Turbide) Schofield. Elier was a lobster fisherman and carpenter. He was a member of Saint-Anne’s Catholic Church.
Elier is survived by his four daughters: Anne Richardson (Alden) of Miramichi, Denise Martin (Andre) of Moncton, Carmel Schofield of Baie-Sainte-Anne and Lisette Schofield of Bathurst; nine sons: Gilles Schofield (Francine) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Jacques Schofield (Argentine) of Moncton, Rosaire Schofield of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Alain Schofield (Margaret) of Moncton, Guy Schofield (Eugeinie) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Marc Schofield (Angie) of Miramichi, Andre Schofield (Wendy) of Escuminac, Colin Schofield of Quispamsis and Yves Schofield (Lisette) of Baie-Sainte-Anne; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three sisters: Bernice Savoie (Ade) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Adrienne Oriet (late George) of Ontario and Adele Pillon (late Armand) of Ontario two brothers: Ariste Schofield (Laurie) of Baie-Sainte-Anne and Aubin Schofield (Caroline) of Miramichi; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Florentine (Manuel) Schofield, two sisters: Therese and Laurida and brother, Alyre. ...
