Meeting: Miramichi Watershed Issues

2nd Annual Public Information Forum to Address Miramichi Watershed Management Concerns

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Newcastle Lion's Club

2pm-4pm.

In response to overwhelming demand, a public information session will be held at the Newcastle Lion's Club to discuss concerns related to the management of the Miramichi Watershed. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans attended the first annual public meeting in 2013 and changes to the New Brunswick regulations soon followed. In the absence of a structure that allows for fair public consultation and information sharing, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has been invited to attend again this year to speak to the serious issues that are affecting the Miramichi Watershed.

If you are a recreational angler, sport fisherman, commercial fisherman or concerned citizen you are strongly encouraged to attend.

For more information, please call Jim Laws at 622-3071.

PLEASE NOTE: Invitations to local, municipal, provincial and federal politicians and representatives have been sent out today between the hours of 5pm - 6pm, via e-mail and are currently awaiting replies. If for any reason someone may have been missed, please accept the apologies of the organizers. Everyone is welcome to attend!
